Amal Al-Agroobi is a film director, producer and writer. Her film career began in 2012 with her short documentary ‘Half Emirati’, then her feature documentary ‘The Brain That Sings’ (2013) which won multiple awards worldwide. Her visual art films include the ‘90% Psyche (2013),’ ‘Climb of Hope (2014)’ and recently, the ‘Louvre/Canvas’ video project (2018). She has also covered fictional projects with her debut short ‘Under the hat’ (2016). Amal has since February 2016 focused on scriptwriting and is now writing projects for independent film houses as well as Hollywood studios. Amal’s passion lies predominantly in themes of social injustice with character-driven stories that discuss identity, personality and the understanding of human character.
